Description

-Player touches net with racket then coach puts up the lob. The player hits the smash into the back 1/4 of the court.
-On the second feed the player lets the ball bounce before the smash.

Coaching Points

  • Players need to point at the ball with non-playing hand to achieve better balance and tracking of the ball.
  • Players should get behind the ball in order to transfer their body weight forward when hitting.
  • For more advanced players the coach can set targets in different parts of the court.
  • Coach should check that players take the racket back and up (without dropping the racket head) when preparing for the smash.
