What you say:
I have used sportplan in recent months and I find it extremely helpful. Particularly having the facility to create your own lesson plans. The idea to have it link with UKCC Coaching awards is excellent. Keep up the good work!

Interception at the net, Doubles Drills Tennis

Description

-Players start in regular doubles positions.
-The service is hit down the centre and the return diagonally.
-Servers are given up to 4 attempts to get the ball in.
-The net player attempts to intercept the return and kill it down the middle.

Coaching Points

  • This drill is pretty demanding unless the players are very advanced. The coach might have to adapt as appropriate if the players find the task too demanding.
  • Adaptations can include server being allowed second serves only or that the net players are both allowed to attempt interception anytime during the rally whenever an opportune shot presents itself.
